Château de Guédelon

I  have to pay 9 Euro to enter Chateau de Guedelo. This is a construction site where a team of people is trying to build a castle using the techniques and materials used in the old days (without the help of technology). The daily work stops after sunset as there is no electricity. The project began in 1997 and is scheduled to complete in 25 years.

Each year hundreds of people visited the site and this place is now a popular tourist spot. According to the information I have gathered while I was there, the authority has already collected enough money from the entrance fee to build the castle. Now they are trying to slow down the work so that more money can be collected. What a good business strategy!

Paris 巴黎

I arrived in Paris on a Friday afternoon and left for London the next Monday morning. This is a short visit and I did not even have the time to get into the Louvre and say hello to Mona Lisa. I also did not have the chance to visit the Palace of Versailles which was built in the 17th century by Louis XIV.

The Hop On Hop Off Open-Top tour bus is not that exciting for me (it is also not that cheap for me as a backpacker) and I decided to join the half day free local walking tour instead. The guided tour is free and we just need to give some tips to the guide after the trip.

During the days in Paris, I backpacked in the French Accountant Jean’s house.
