I explored Hat Yai in different ways and each trip gave me a different perspective— by coach, plane, and multiple bus routes. My 1st trip to Hat Yai was by the coach from Golden Mile. The 2nd trip was by plane from Changi Airport. The 3rd trip was by afternoon bus from Johor Larkin Bus Terminal to Kuala Lumpur and waited for 5 hours to take the midnight bus to Hat Yai. The 4th trip was by direct express bus from Johor Larkin Bus Terminal to Hat Yai. I will say Hat Yai is a place to eat and shop. A stay for 2 to 4 days is enough to soak it all in without feeling rushed.
